About Our Company

A Brief History

Geppetto's Theater is the home to Le Theatre de Marionette.  Le Theatre de Marionette was founded in 1991 in Arlington Texas (Original Photo Above, Circa 1991).  Since then, the artists of Le Theatre have performed countless marionette shows across the DFW area and throughout Texas.  In 1995, Le Theatre de Marionette moved to NorthPark in Dallas.  In 2000, a second theater was opened in Ridgmar Mall in Fort Worth.  In 2003, the theater in Fort Worth closed and shortly therafter in 2005, the theater at NorthPark closed during the massive mall renovation.  Since that time, the performers and companies focused on touring programs in the schools, libraries, museums, and other cultural centers.  The theater is the recipeint of funding from Big Thought in Dallas and the Texas Commission of the Arts.In 2009, Le Theatre begin the quest to find a new permanent home in the Dallas area.  In 2013, Le Theatre begaan working with Hilton for Holiday programming. In 2014, an agreement was made with Crow Holdings and Hilton Corporation to open a dedicated marionette theater inside the world-class hotel, the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.  As part of the Hilton's new focus on leisure travelers and families, the new theater dedicated to this unique art form was a perfect match for the weekend getaway for local family as well as a tourist destination for the world traveler.  The new theater was named Geppetto's, to convey the roots of the artform from the classic story, Pinocchio, and to differentiate the theater from the existing Le Theatre touring operations.
